Starting a Small Business - Location Considerations

Published by david under Article

Signtronix Signs Can Help Your Business Thrive.

On premise signage is both effective and economical; it is a powerful marketing tool for making the most of advertising dollars to reach potential customers. In 2003, the NSBDC was invited to participate in the International Sign Associations convention in Las Vegas. At that symposium the luncheon speaker talked about the value of signage, and showed a 20 minute DVD with case studies. Kathy Carigo, the state training director of the NSBDC had such an overwhelming reaction to the DVD, that when she got back to Reno she took some 100 photos of local retail signs. With her new born awareness about the value of signage, Kathy immediately realized why customers did not stop and shop at these stores. In her words, the signs were really, really bad. As the state training director and next level state administrator, it’s Kathy’s job to assist small businesses to become more successful. So she contacted a sign company, Signtronix, and asked for their help in assisting one of the fledgling businesses she works with. The request was accepted and the business selected was one that had difficulty gaining customers and was struggling to survive. It was a small Mexican restaurant called Fresh Mex. In this case, Fresh Mex had a sign which as you can see was much more visible than the one Frenchie’s started with. Yes, this little Mexican restaurant, which specialized in the biggest burritos in town, had a big sign advertising burgers. Consequently, customers were confused as to what the restaurant served, was it burgers, burritos, both.

In order for a sign to be effective, it must instantly communicate a clear concise message, if it doesn’t customers will be lost. Another problem was that the restaurant was located in an unusual 3 way intersection and the sign was only somewhat visible in just 2 directions. The solution was installing a unique sign that solved all their problems, it was readable from all 3 directions, was colorful, easy to read, and it clearly established their business as a Mexican restaurant. Adding banners with a consistent theme enhanced their street presence even more, giving the site a signed centric appearance. As a result, sales jumped by 300% and Fresh Mex was recently voted number one restaurant in town by the Reno Press. And again, the only thing that changed, their signage. As for Kathy Carigo and the Nevada Small Business Center, they were extremely happy and impressed with the results. In fact, they think signage is so important that they now include it as a mandatory part of their 13 week entrepreneurial programs curriculum. It’s difficult to quantify the exact value of signage, but when a Signtronix sign can increase revenue while cutting costs, it’s worth every penny and more. Those are just a few examples of how the right use of signage can benefit business. The value of signage lies in its marketing ability. When a sign is viewed not just as a marker but as a powerful marketing tool, its hidden potential is tapped and its full value is realized. Not just for the business that owns it but for the customers it communicates with and to the city where it’s located. Thank you.

More Business to Our Website Too!

Published by david under reviews

Signtronix,

Within the first few weeks, many business associates asked about our new sign when they stopped in. Where we got it from, how bright and clear it is, nicely detailed and informative. We even had a few people stop in just to tell us how neat the sign is at night.

The best thing we did was to put our website address on the Signtronix sign. We have gotten a good response to our website since we put the sign up. So much response that we haven’t been able to follow up on some potential clients.

The Salesman Terry is very reliable to work with. Everything we went over was just as Terry said and as we agreed on. Even mounting the sign on our existing pole with a Signtronix mounting bracket went together fast and easy.

We have a 49″ X 97″ size sign. As big as it is, the 60MPH wind didn’t phase it a bit. We are very proud of our Signtronix sign. It makes the front of our business look very professional.

Eight Out of Ten People Say Its the Sign!

Published by david under Comments

Dear Signtronix:

Thank you so much for stopping by to show us the great signs your company makes.

Since we bought ours we’ve made it a habit to ask every new customer how they heard about our salon.

Eight out of ten people say: “We say your nice sign out front.” It is especially attractive when lit at night and advertises for us even after we’ve closed for the night.

Thanks for showing us the possibilities. We would have missed out on quite a few new customers without the Signtronix sign. Also we’re averaging about 1 new customer at least every other day - that’s 3 a week.

Sincerely,
R. Spangler and G. Hudgins

What is a Sales Professional Anyway?

Published by david under Article

Signtronix Sign Company - What is a Sales Professional Anyway?

Whether the economy is good or bad, up or down, sales jobs are always hiring. When sales fall off, that’s the time when a savvy company like Signtronix will hire more sales personnel, to keep the cash flowing. Good sales people are the lifeblood of any company. But what is a sales job, really? Many people may be mindful of a pushy guy trying to convince you to put out your hard-earned money for something you don’t really want or need, but that’s not a true sales person. A real salesman is is listening to the customer. He (or she) knows that the customer will tell you exactly what you need to know to sell them what they really do want or need. So he’s not pushing something on them that they don’t want. Rather, he’s helping them to find what they DO want.

Sadly, the days of the pushy blue-suede used car salesman are far from over. So long as there are weaker-willed people, there will be con men out there to con-vince them to agree to buy what those unscrupulous people have to sell. But that’s not a sales professional. A sales professional strives to help the customer acquire what they’re really after, and works hard to make sure that there’s never any Buyer’s Remorse, any bad feelings after the sale.

Dear Signtronix - I want to take a moment to tell you of the wonderful results we have realized since installing a Signtronix electronic message center.

Signtronix, Flower Shop Signs, Texas Sign Companies

Published by david under reviews

Dear Sir - Upon receiving and installing my new visual display ( Signtronix sign) I never imagined how just a “sign” could captivate the public. I knew it was designed with expertise but the community response was quite overwhelming. I saw sales slowly, the first few days, increase, but by the following week my sales went up 45% percent from last years. I asked approximately 23 customers their opinion on its cosmetic looks and appeal to their shopping eye. Their response was basically the same. We had to come in and see what those “roses” were all about. The “roses” were about the Victorian era, antiques and collectibles, my hobby. Their response was wonderful. They spent their money, left happy and always said they would return. January has not even ended and a majority already have returned.

I did not realize the visual effect this Signtronix sign would have on the public and my business. I greatly appreciate Signtronix ability to help me increase my sales far beyond last year and their unique and talented Art and Sales Department. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Frances A. Park Owner

Fish Fry Booming!

Published by david under reviews

Dear Sirs,

We just wanted to take a minute out of our busy day to thank you for our wonderful Signtronix sign!

We always knew we needed a new sign our front. We have been in business here for 25 years and some people thought we were a truck terminal, now there is no doubt that this is a restaurant, and our specialty is breakfast!

Our business has increased 200%. We have recently hired two new waitresses, and opened up the night shift three nights a week, Friday night fish fry is really booming! Special thanks to our wonderful sales man who showed us how we could afford a sign, and more importantly, how we couldn’t afford not to get a sign!

Thank you again,

Signtronix Sign Company, Texas Sign Companies

Published by david under Survey

Dear Signtronix - As per my agreement with Mr. Richard B. Truex, I am writing this testimonial.

I put my sign up with a simple scrolling message and left it for four days, then I started asking for suggestions from my employees and random customers about the content and presentation. Upon receipt of their input I took it back down and experimented with the different types of programming and presentation. When we were all satisfied we re-hung it with the new wording and shorter flashing blinking messages.

Three weeks after the new wording we took a customer survey, as suggested and received information that the only advertising that out did our sign was word of mouth. It beat the newspaper and radio ads handily.

My daily invoicing has increased from an average of 65 to an average of 75 invoices a day. Since this is a new business and we have had a steady increase in sales every month, I think the purchase of this Signtronix sign has increased the monthly growth and will help get my store on a break even footing quicker then projected.
